In this day and age it should be apparent that there is a HUGE incentive to practice waste reduction. On O’ahu the landfills are getting pretty close to being full. We all bear some responsibility in this. As a producer it is part of my Kuleana, my responsibility and relationship to the land, to consider the lifecycle of all the products I produce. The labels on my jars are all biodegradable. Just a little bit of water and they are on their way to being compost. The jars are glass and should be placed kindly in the blue bin. The lid can also be deferred from the land fill but, you will have to drive it to a transfer station. Dispose of it in the metal pile. I encourage you to find uses for your jars in your day to day life.
My buddy Joseph has started to store seeds in his jars and uses them for flowers. Honestly, I’m honored to see how he and many others have chosen to find beauty in my jars long after they have been emptied.
